The Art of Katie Henry

Embroidery artist Katie Henry creates nostalgic scenes using thread, a pale color palette, and anthropomorphic figures that speak of summerand childhood. Each composition is created within a void of white space,causing the viewer to focus on the careful details of the stitching. Interestingly, the animal/human hybridsalso cross breed with other species, as families are blended with birds and mammals.This subtle inclusion adds a sly social commentary  to the gentle works.
