In the Streets with Eddie Colla and D Young V

As hundreds of galleries and dealers descended upon Miami earlier this month for the annual Art Basel Miami Beach, so to did an equal number of artists, many of whom came for the rampant and pervasive street art being created during the week long affair. While a large portion of street level works created in Miami during Basel were sanctioned, approved and legal, an equal number of large scale murals, stencils and wheatpastes were created under the cover of night in a vandalistic free for all. Hi-Fructose correspondent Shaun Roberts spent a week embedded with San Francisco’s Eddie Colla and D Young V as the duo targeted blank walls around South Beach and Wynwood turning the streets into an open air art gallery of their own.
