The Art of Kelly Louise Judd

Steeped in the curious magic of fairytales, the women and creatures than inhabit the world of Kelly Louise Judd participate in rituals, hauntings, and ephemeral couplings that echo the essence of the Victorian era. Strange occurrences abound in each piece as a pair of twins are joined by a star filled whisper, a wolf has swallowed a girl whole and a woman has grown the body of a bird. Judd's dark, earth toned palette is reminiscent of renaissance paintings while her alluring and strange subject matter feels both nostalgic and unexpected.
