Deedee Cheriel‘s latest body of work, ‘Abracadabra’ is a playful, whimsical, and ultimately, magical look into the artist’s world of nature and mankind amalgamated. The repetition of imagery and characters creates a resonating thematic consistency throughout her work while the bright East Indian-inspired colors and patterns seem to magically transport the viewer to her allegorical landscapes. Cheriel was kind enough to send Hi-Fructose some preview pictures from her new show, which opens later this evening (Saturday, October 9th) at Merry Karnowski Gallery in Los Angeles.
