Dave Cooper gets Mangled

Showing alongside Jeff Soto's "Lifecycle" show at Jonathan Levine Gallery is the latest offering of paintings and drawings from Hi-Fructose favorite Dave Cooper (HF Vol. 1and 7). While big-eyed naked women fighting, fucking, and bendingthemselves into positions a Kamasutrist contortionist could onlyimagine, serves as captivating subject matter to say the least,Cooper's unique vision of the human form, eerie underwater-esquebackdrops, and masterful oil techniques have led to a near cultfollowing of his work (prominent Cooper collectors include DavidCronenberg and Guillermo del Toro). More compelling than agruesome car accident, Cooper's "Mangled" is now on view till the 24thof July, check out our photos from the opening night after the jump.
