Pan-African philosopher, journalist and black nationalist, Marcus Garvey once said: “out of our own created genius we make ourselves what we want to be.Follow always that great law. Let the sky and God be our limit andEternity our measurement.” Garvey’s words and life have provided Los Angeles artist Ekundayo(HF Vol. 9) with much of the inspiration for his latest solo show, “JoyToday, Jeopardy Tomorrow” as the young artist focuses on fight of themoment, the beautiful struggle, and most importantly, the disregard ofany consequences. “Joy Today, Jeopardy Tomorrow” opens tonight, Friday, June 11th at Thinkspace in Culver City alongside Brett Amory’s “Waiting” which we previewed earlier this week. Take a look at some exclusive behind-the-scenes photos of Ekundayo’s installation, here on Hi-Fructose.
