Studio Visit with Richard Colman

by Ken HarmanPosted on

As Richard Colman was putting the finishing touches on his upcoming show, “Keep Out the Light”, debuting later this month at New Image Art, Hi Fructose swung by his studio to catch a glimpse at the artist’s latest body of work. In preparation for his first show in LA since 2007, Colman looks to impress with a site specific installation consisting of some sculpture, a massive mural, and more of his distinct geometric and occult-like imagery. The tiny studio, strewn about with tchotchkes, paint, action figures, VHS tapes, and even a bit of taxidermy seems to provide the perfect setting and inspiration for his unique voice as well as an insightful look into the mind state of the artist himself. Check out our pics from his studio below.
