Though we previewed Mark Ryden’s upcoming show and latest body of work, “The Gay 90’s: Old Tyme Art Show” in the latest volume of Hi Fructose, we thought it’d be nice to supplement Kirsten Anderson’s excellent interview with some photos of the works in their finalized and framed state. Ryden, who is a stickler for detail, has hand-carved frames custom-created for each of his pieces, resulting in a wholly awe-inspiring experience in which the frame is as much a part of the work and compliments according his own personal vision for the piece.
