Shepard Fairey Arrested on the Way to His Boston Museum Show

Propagandist/artist Shepard Fairey (arguably the most publicly recognizable name in art right now) was arrested for putting an OBEY poster up on the way to his Boston Contemporary Art solo retrospective, “Supply and Demand.” All eyes are on him (for better or worse) as he installed a 20-by-50 foot banner (legally) on the side of Boston City Hall earlier this week and as he battles the Associated Press over the snap shot used as reference for the Obama posters (and the knock-off hordes of items that soon followed!). Look for an exclusive article on Fairey in Hi-Fructose Vol.11, where Ert O’Hara goes on a night of wheat-pasting with the insatiable Giant.
