I'm always amazed on how many people haven't seen Maywa Denki, the "company" of art rocker toy/music/robotic genius geniis responsible for permanently shifting the state of reality .00001 degrees in the right direction; just enough so that everything seems that much more redicul...redonkul...redic...awesome. Here's their kids show I just finally discovered. I love the second part where they get all folky, too. I'm going to start a rumor of a Maywa Denki/Friends With You/Toykestra/Toy Death/Cookie Mongoloid/Twink/Captured By Robots tour and maybe it'll happen if we wish hard enough. Japanese product producers Maywa Denki were featured in Hi-Fructose Vol. 3. "Maywa Denki demonstrate product like surgeons, operating sounds on their nonsense machines seemingly made out of a mixture of the carcasses of animals, people, old-time diving suits, scissors, and acoustic guitars..." People always want to know if their products really work and what they sound like, so here are two informative videos to knock on your mind.
Mark Jenkins (HF Vol.5) set up his appropriately themed "Golden Ass" sculpture in a tourist trap row in Barcelona, where living statue street buskers feed on coins from the passersby, The sculptures dedication to it's inanimate role is astounding and certainly worthy of the large amount of coin he gathered!
