Glenn Barr's (HF cover-vol.10) down and out urban world is moody and noir-ish; yet amidst it's blight there's a hard to pin down magical element to it. Perhaps it's the way Barr renders it's inhabitants using paint to expertly model light. Barr just opened a show of new paintings, prints, artist proofs, and recent work at Detroit's own 323 gallery the perfect locale for his work. Over 400 folks attended and the opening included a performance by Detroit's own "The Readies." Take a look at photos of opening night and our favorite Glenn Barr works from the show here.
