With “Burn With Me” at Arch Enemy Arts, Michael Reedy offers new mixed-media works that examine themes of birth and death. Kicking off on Sept. 6, the show follows the artist’s 2016 show at the Philadelphia gallery, “Dust & Moonshine.” The title “Burn With Me” is inspired by a Banana Yoshimoto short story with the line, ”I bet I go to hell when I die … ” Reedy was last mentioned on our site here.
Michigan artist Michael Reedy is back with a new set of works, evolving his trademark blend of faithful anatomical figures and dreamlike abstraction. “Dear Future Self” is his new show at Helikon Gallery & Studios in Denver features mixed-media pieces on paper. The show runs through April 21 at the gallery.
In a new show at 111 Minna Gallery, the works of Michael Reedy and Scott Tulay explore concepts under the banner of “Ghosts and Shadows.” The program is a blend of the Michigan-based Reedy’s pieces, blending abstraction and realistic anatomical drawings, and Tulay’s distorted, architectural works.
