Preview: “Push It” Group Show at ArtNowNY

The title of the upcoming group show at ArtNowNY, "Push It," has the power to instantly summon the eponymous 1988 hit by Salt N Pepa to start playing in the back of one's mind. Coincidentally or not, the spirit of the group show is not too far off from the rebellious and cheeky rhymes of the pioneering, all-female rap group. "Push It" the exhibition is not only an homage to girl power, but a showcase of boundary-pushing artists, including interdisciplinary street artists Swoon, Aiko, Indie184 and Maya Hayuk. The show opens this Thursday, April 3, at ArtNowNY and will be on view through April 26. Take a look at our sneak peek after the jump.
