Jeffrey Richter, however, specializes in pastel and charcoal drawings with a haunting aesthetic made possible by the smoky effect of his chosen media. Opting for chiaroscuro lighting, Richter focuses on isolated figures — femme fatales that are hybrids of human and machine, temptresses of death that emerge from skeletal remains.
