Japanese artist and designer Yusuke Oono adds depth to an especially two dimensional medium: paper. Though paper art has existed for some time, it has especially blossomed as an art form over the past several years. Oono combines the art form with that of bookmaking to create a sort of diorama. Designs and images are cut from several pages and bound together much like a book. When the pages are spread a story nearly seems to unfold along with a visual scene. Oono’s book-like pieces appear to reference the ways stories leave the page and take form in our imagination.
