Amy Judd’s Avian Painting Series

British painter Amy Judd cultivates a sense of mystery in her stylized, minimalistic compositions. Female characters become siren-like as they interact with birds, the feathers serving as armor or even headpieces akin to the otherworldly stylings of high fashion editorials. Judd obscures the characters' faces and leaves the backgrounds sparse, inviting the viewers to fill in the gaps of the implied narrative with their imaginations. Her paintings are executed with a clean precision; their refined lines lend them an illustrative quality. See more of her work after the jump.
