UK-based artist Lilia Mazurkevich paints ecstatic women. With smiles that recall those donned by actresses in TV commercials, the nude and scantily clad female protagonists pose with wild animals, modeling them like garments or clinging to them like one does in a warm embrace with a beloved family member. While many artists attempt to draw a connection between femininity and the natural world, the ladies Mazurkevich paints are no personification of a Mother Earth filled with unconditional love.
