Using polyester resin and wax, Rebecca Stevenson creates delicate sculptures with baroque flourishes. Flowers and heirloom tomatoes blossom from the heads and bodies of her human and animal subjects like the ornamental flora in Italian Renaissance paintings. The floral growths sometimes appear as adornments on the living body, but in some of her works, they look like the agents of decomposition and regeneration.
