Michael Aaron Williams began to get recognition when his street art installations — hopeful depictions of homeless people on cardboard — surfaced online a few years ago. Continuing his exploration of reclaimed materials, the artist recently completed a new series of portraits painted with coffee on 100-year-old ledger paper. Mixed with a small amount of ink, the translucent liquid blends beautifully with the neat penmanship left behind on the pages by their previous owners.
