JoKa’s Pointillist Toothpick Paintings

Using a Pointillist method, Philadelphia-based artist JoKa creates paintings using a toothpick as his only tool. Colorful dots are methodically built up to form a clear picture, like a camera lens coming into focus. Mimicking the double-exposure effect of photography, JoKa overlaps multiple images over one another, creating an intricate visual puzzle with the different layers.
