Preview: Jesse Hazelip at Yves Laroche Galerie D’Art

Known for his large-scale, monochromatic artworks and murals, Jesse Hazelip (featured in Hi-Fructose Vol. 14) will be showing at Yves Laroche Gallery in Montreal with Jon Todd for their two-man show, “Butcher’s Hook.” For this new body of work, Hazelip takes inspiration from Americana and tattoo culture, drawing portraits of bulls, coyotes and eagles (the animals of American colonial lore) adorned with elaborate lettering and iconography.
