As Ben Eine prepares for his June solo show at Corey Helford Gallery‘s CHG Circa, he invited Hi-Fructose into his studio to watch as he put the finishing touches on his new series of paintings. Exploring the ideas of guilt and innocence in relation to graffiti and vandalism, Eine presents a body of work heavily dosed with his cynical sense of humor and meticulously-cut letter stencils.
A sort of shrine to the act of doing graffiti, Eine’s San Francisco studio pulses with vibrant colors. The word “vandalism” reverberates throughout his workspace on a variety of canvases scattered around the room. Eine used glow-in-the-dark paint for many of the new works, which will be illuminated in an elaborate train tunnel-inspired installation that will be revealed the night of the show. Take a look at our exclusive photos from the visit below and check out Eine’s solo show at CHG Circa opening June 15.
