Illusory Wire Sculptures by David Oliveira

Portugese artist David Oliveira specializes in optical illusions that manipulate space. As if drawing in thin air, Oliveira creates wire sculptures that are three-dimensional but resemble line drawings from a distance. When focusing one's eye on the figures in his sculptures, the backgrounds begin to look like flat pages in a notebook rather than voluminous rooms. Take a look at some of the works after the jump, images courtesy of David Oliveira.
