Dust’s New Murals Personify Nature

Interested in the tension between technological progress and nature, German street artist Dust creates murals that visualize forest spirits coming to life as animate beings. Composed of myriads of brilliantly-colored paint strokes, the tree-like characters appear to emerge from twigs and roots that grow with unstoppable vigor. These creatures take on a life of their own as their limbs crawl horizontally across entire walls. “My thesis is: nature does not need [humans], nature needs only nature,” said Dust. Take a look at some of Dust’s latest murals below, images courtesy of the artist.
