Opening February 23, North Hollywood’s Cella Gallery will debut the group show “Something Wicked This Way Comes.” Featured artists include Christian Rex van Minnen (featured in Hi-Fructose Vol. 25), Fulvio Di Piazza (featured in Hi-Fructose Vol. 25), Annie Owens (Hi-Fructose co-founder), Chrystal Chan, David Ball, Jana Brike, Jessica Ward, Judith Supine, Christine Wu and Michael Page (featured in Hi-Fructose Vol. 19). Curated by Hi-Fructose contributor Stephanie Chefas, the show features a wide array of artists who use subversive and grotesque imagery in visually appealing, even enticing, ways. “Each artist was chosen based on their dark allure and ability to transform what naturally repels us into something utterly captivating,” said Chefas. “By consistently pushing conventional norms, these artists are simultaneously challenging the viewer as well as themselves.” Take a look at our preview of the show below.
