Henrietta Harris’ Portraits of Drifting Minds

The watercolor paintings of Henrietta Harris depict states of fleeting consciousness. By distorting subjects' faces with wisps of color and doubled reflections, the artist apprehends that in-between moment of waking and sleeping before one drifts away into a dream world. A blend of psychedelia and realism, Harris' work presents a unique approach to exploring the parts of the human mind that are not easy to consciously observe. Take a look at some of her work after the jump.
