Julia Randall, whose seductive drawings of bubblegum bubbles and beckoning tongues are featured in our current issue, is taking her oral fixation to New York’s Garvey Simon Art Access for a solo show titled “Blown.” A series of colored pencil drawings of viscous, masticated bubbles, “Blown” provides an abstract take on sexuality through subtle signifiers. Bubbles stick together and pull apart in her new drawings; these objects we normally discard come to life with strange and suggestive sex appeal.
