This Saturday, New York’s Jonathan LeVine Gallery will premiere two Australian artist’s debut solo shows in the U.S., Jeremy Geddes’ (HF Vol. 15) “Exhale” and Ashley Wood‘s “Machine Sabbath.” Focusing on the fragility of the human body, Geddes uses a photorealistic painting style to portray fantastical scenes of disaster. Bodies fly in symmetrical formations, blasted into space by cinematic explosions flinging debris. Meanwhile, Wood’s series of works take an expressive approach to showing sexuality, masking sensual female bodies in dark, dripping colors. Take a look at our preview below.
