In Michael Ramstead‘s paintings, children are possessed by the supernatural. His works create a voyeuristic sensation, as if the viewer walks in on the unsuspecting protagonists when they least expect it. We see ghosts and specters lurking in the background and want to intervene, like the moment before a big scare in a horror film. Ramstead will premiere his new works at Thinkspace on September 29 concurrently with Tran Nguyen and Stella Im Hultberg and Jeremy Hush‘s respective shows.
