In her installation art, Esther Stocker messes with her viewers’ heads, surrounding them with lines and planes that change their perception of space. Walking into one of Stocker’s black-and-white rooms is like invading the two-dimensional world of a line drawing. Using wood, foam and acrylic as her media, she creates dramatic illusions of depth the same way one does when making marks on a sheet of paper to create three-dimensional forms.
