Chinese street artist DALeast has traveled the world painting stunning, large-scale murals that play on notions of the natural and the artificial. Predominantly using animals as his subjects, DAL renders whales, lions and other powerful beasts with lines that appear reflective like the film from a cassette. An eternally long strip seems to wrap around an unfathomable number of times to form these creatures, making us wonder whether they are really animals at all despite their dynamic movement. DAL recently participated in the “Streets of the World” group show at Opera Gallery in New York and “Wild at Heart: Keep Wildlife in the Wild” at Thinkspace in Culver City. Take a look at more of his work, images courtesy of the artist.
