We featured German sculptor Gregor Gaida in Hi-Fructose Vol. 20, and this year the artist has created several new works that challenge the viewer’s sense of space. Gaida’s latest sculptures can be examined from any point of view; they appear different from every angle, combining organic forms and precisely rendered components of human and animal anatomies. Gaida’s penchant for mimicking nature can make the sculptures haunting at times; the mutants appear so lifelike as they become part of our physical reality. Gaida currently has a solo show at Parrotta Contemporary Art in Stuttgart, Germany featuring a few of the new works. Take a look at some images courtesy of the artist.
