Pow Wow Recap

As we covered last week (here) Hi-Fructose recently took a trip to Hawai’i to participate in and witness the annualart event, Pow Wow. Following the two days of setup, divvying up wall space,preparing canvases, trips from the North Shore home base of Utopium, and the beginnings of the city-wide muralaspect to the event, Pow Wow 2012 was officially in full gear by Thursday as amix of local and international artists worked around the clock to finish theirprojects in time for the Saturday night opening.

 As the event drew nearer, the artists began to descend on theLoft in Space Gallery to decorate itssurrounding walls and get started on the indoor collaborative works which sawfruition the night of the opening in a frenzied live painting and interactiveevent. Get a look at the buildup and finale to the weeklongmultidisciplinary event, here on Hi-Fructose. -Ken Harman
