As we covered last week (here) Hi-Fructose recently took a trip to Hawai’i to participate in and witness the annual art event, Pow Wow. Following the two days of setup, divvying up wall space, preparing canvases, trips from the North Shore home base of Utopium, and the beginnings of the city-wide mural aspect to the event, Pow Wow 2012 was officially in full gear by Thursday as a mix of local and international artists worked around the clock to finish their projects in time for the Saturday night opening.
As the event drew nearer, the artists began to descend on the Loft in Space Gallery to decorate its surrounding walls and get started on the indoor collaborative works which saw fruition the night of the opening in a frenzied live painting and interactive event. Get a look at the buildup and finale to the weeklong multidisciplinary event, here on Hi-Fructose. –Ken Harman
