The Art of Victor A. Malagon

Here at Hi-Fructose, we have a personal affinity to graffiti of all kinds. Old school NYC train tags to 3D murals all hold a soft spot in our hearts, we just don’t cover the scene too much as there are already plenty of great sites and mags that do. However, Bay area artist Victor A. Malagon recently caught our eye with his two dimensional wooden pieces cut into the shapes of tags, then hand painted with a mix of classic oils and more contemporary aerosol. The artist recently received his Masters in Art from San Jose State and we love the direction of his indoor work and the shadows that they cast.
