The Art of Sarah Illenberger

by Ken HarmanPosted on

Berlin-based artist Sarah Illenberger creates sculpture and assemblage, re-invisioning a world where the unlikeliest of objects can accomplish the most extraordinary and sometimes commonplace of tasks or results. A halved artichoke becomes a spoon, bean sprouts are re-arranged to become ovaries, and a slice of watermelon rains down its seeds. Illenberger will be celebrating her latest solo show, ‘Good Weather’ this coming August 18th at the Gestalten Space in Berlin, where she’ll also be debuting her latest book as well. Get a look at a couple of our favorite works from the artist, below.
