The Lucid Dreams of Fuco Ueda

by JL SchnabelPosted on

Japanese artist Fuco Ueda (HF Vol. 12) has just released her new book, ‘Lucid Dream’, and in celebration, Bunkamura gallery is exhibiting a collection of both her new and older works. Despite the dark dreamscapes explored throughout her earlier paintings, some influenced by surreal Japanese novelist Yumiko Kurahashi, her newer work employs her signature vibrant, kinetic colors within the scope of aquatic themes and the strange, symbiotic relationships between lush plants, sea life, and the thin, raven haired females depicted in varying ages throughout her opus.
