Amanda Lopez has Cali Love

Even with Dia De Los Muertos still months away (November 2nd), we here at Hi-Fructose are already looking forward to this year's Day of the Dead celebration (keep a lookout for our feature on Silvia Ji's paintings in the upcoming HF Vol. 16!) Sacramento-based photographer and former protégé to Estevan Oriol, Amanda Lopez will be continuing on her themed portraiture series with an upcoming show at Free Gold Watch on June 18th.

Amanda recently told Hi-Fructose that "the project is something that came together last year during dia de los muertos. The first few portraits that we created were well received so I decide to continue on with the project. It's really the first time that I've worked this way. I usually work out doors in natural light or in a subject's environment, so to go into a studio and work with a team was a big change but a really fun one."

Check out a couple more pictures from the upcoming show here on Hi-Fructose.
